Biography
Coming from an untraditional medical route background Stephanie Garcia has worked as an educator, congressional intern, and medical scribe. She is currently a general surgery intern at The University of Oklahoma- Tulsa. Being exposed to many regions of the US , Stephanie has worked with people of various backgrounds including Native populations, students, physicians, lawyers, and incarcerated individuals. She worked in the Navajo Nation Reservation as a teacher, coach, and also volunteered at the local Indian Health Hospital. She has worked as an emergency room scribe at a community hospital, served as a substitute teacher at low income schools , has published research on addiction medicine and now serves as a resident physician where she is focusing her efforts on becoming an academic surgeon.
