Biography

Dr. Isom specializes in weight management and bariatric surgery nutrition. She was honored to be awarded the Massachusetts Outstanding Dietitian of the Year in 2018. She has held multiple roles on executive committees for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Commission on Dietetic Registration’s Certificate of Training in Obesity for Adolescents and Adults. She was the bariatric program director at Brigham and Women’s Hospital from 2009 to 2018. She is an Assistant Professor at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, CA. Her clinical and research interests include obesity management, gastrointestinal health, bariatric nutrition, obesity advocacy, weight bias, and nutrition education.
