Biography
Larissa McGarrity, PhD is a clinical psychologist and assistant professor (clinical) in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Her clinical, research, and education focus is on psychological health in severe obesity, especially the bariatric surgery context. Specific areas of inquiry include risk and resilience pre and post bariatric surgery, psychological and behavioral effects of genetic testing for contributors to obesity in the weight management clinic setting, and development and testing of interventions to improve psychosocial health for patients and families.
