Biography

I graduated with my MD from the University of Cincinnati in 1980 and completed a general surgery residency at the Maine Medical Center in 1980. I recieved additional training in pediatric surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburg. After practicing general surgery for 18 years I have practiced bariatric surgery for 20 years completing over 3,000 bariatric operations. I have held the position of Chief of Bariatric Surgery at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and at Reading Hospital in Reading, PA where I developed a Bariatric Surgery Fellowship in 2017. I am presently Chief of Bariatric Surgery at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and limit my practice to children and adolescents with obesity.
