Valukas, Catherine | MD MS
Biography
Dr. Valukas is a general surgery resident at Northwestern University. She is currently completing her second year of a research fellowship with the Northwestern Quality Improvement, Research & Education in Surgery (NQUIRES) group. Her interests include minimally invasive and bariatric surgery, quality improvement and health disparities, and surgical education. Her projects focus on identifying barriers to care for different patient populations, examining disparities in surgical outcomes as well as improving access to high quality surgical care for vulnerable populations. She is also committee chair of the Education Committee for the Department of Surgery at Northwestern. Dr. Valukas holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from University of Iowa, her medical degree from VCU School of Medicine and she recently completed her Master’s of Science in Health Services and Outcomes Research at Northwestern University.
